Error: "The account is not a transaction account"
The Issue When connecting your bank account, you might see an error message that says:
"The account my wage gets deposited into isn’t a transaction account."
This happens because the bank account you are trying to link is classified as a Savings, Goal, or Investment account by your bank, rather than a standard Transaction account.
Why does Brolly reject Savings accounts? Even if your salary is deposited into that account, we generally cannot use it for verification. Here is why:
Risk Assessment: Our system needs to analyze your daily spending habits (like groceries, transport, coffee, bills) to generate your Risk Score. Savings accounts usually only show transfers in and out, which doesn't give us enough data to approve you.
Repayment Compatibility: Many savings accounts restrict Direct Debits, which means we wouldn't be able to automatically collect repayments when they are due.
How to fix it To proceed, you must connect an Everyday Transaction Account (often called an "Access," "Smart Access," or "Everyday" account).
Go back to the Connect Bank screen in the Brolly app.
Select a different account that you use for your daily spending.
As long as we can see transfers from your income going into that account, the system will accept it.
Still stuck? If you only have one account and believe it is being flagged incorrectly, please take a screenshot of the error and email us at support@thebrolly.app.
